Cerebral dysfunction (CDFS)
LABOKLIN Service ID: 8314
The cerebral dysfunction in Friesian Stabijhoun is an inherited disease of the brain. A genetic mutation causes a structural change of transporter systems for neurotransmitters. Due to this malfunction, several processes in the central nervous-system are impaired. Clinically affected animals exhibit a large variety of neuronal symptoms such as depressed behaviour, walking circles, obsessive sniffing and running backwards.
Method | TaqMan SNP assay, if necessary sequencing |
Breed list | Stabijhoun |
Heredity | autosomal recessive |
Duration | 3 - 5 days after arrival of the sample in the lab (in case of sequencing 1 - 2 weeks) |
