Assessment

  • The DHP/progesterone ratio is < 1 in cyclic mares or in early pregnancy, and > 1 after the luteal-placental shift around the 100th to 120th day of pregnancy.
  • Absolute DHP concentrations (follow-up examinations) provide information about placental function when diseases occur during advanced pregnancy.
