Testosterone

Stallion: Testosterone should be assessed for cryptorchidism as part of an HCG Stimulation Test (see Endocrinology/Function Tests)
Small mammals: To diagnose testosterone-producing tissue, an HCG Stimulation Test (see Endocrinology/Function Tests) should be performed with testosterone determined twice at an interval of one hour. Single determinations are only diagnostically meaningful if positive.

Used for checking endocrine testicular function, ovarian tumours in mares (diagnosis via Granulosa Cell Tumour Profile (testosterone, AMH, progesterone) recommended), differentiation between cryptorchid and castrated male animals.

Duration	Reporting of results on the day the sample is received (Mon–Sat) horse, donkey, farm animals, small mammals: 2–4 working days
