Tumour Test Nu.Q® (dog)

LABOKLIN Service ID: 94

  • To determine the concentration of nucleosomes in the blood: Nucleosomes are released into the blood in increased amounts during apoptosis and cell necrosis. This particularly occurs in disseminated neoplasms.
  • Indications include tumour screening in patients with no clinical signs, therapy monitoring and early detection of recurrence.
  • Sensitivity is highest in lymphoma and haemangiosarcoma.

Material

EDTA plasma 0.5 ml (fasting required)

  • 4 hours of fasting are recommended before blood collection

Method

Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)

Species list

Dog

Duration

1–5 working days

Remark

  • A negative result does not rule out a tumour. A positive result must be confirmed by further diagnostic measures.
  • Not suitable for clinically ill dogs. The concentration of nucleosomes also increases as a result of inflammatory cell death.
