General information
Emydomyces testavorans was first described in 2019 and is a keratinophilic fungus of the order Onygenales. So far, it has only been documented in aquatic turtles and terrapins, both in captive and in wild animals. Infection has been described in connection with various shell lesions (mainly ulcerative), osteonecrosis, but also spaceoccupying epithelial inclusion cysts.
