LABOKLIN Service ID: 1261
semi-quantitative collection of clinical cahmical and cellular parameters and measurement of the specific gravity + bacteriology
| Material | Urine 6 ml or Urine 5 ml + swab with medium or Urine 5 ml + uricult |
| Parameter | Specific gravity, pH, protein, haemoglobin/myoglobin, bilirubin, urobilinogen, glucose, nitrite, ketone bodies, erythrocytes, leukocytes, bacteria, yeasts, cylinders, epithelia, crystals and bacteriology |
| Method | Dry chemistry, photometry, microscopy, refractometry, culture |
| Duration | 2–3 working days |
| Remark | - If the patient is currently being treated with medication (antibiotics, allopurinol, etc.), this should be noted on the submission form.
- For bacteriological testing, urine collection via cystocentesis is the most appropriate method.
- If characteristic crystals are found in the sediment, the animal species, urine pH and specific gravity should be included to draw clear conclusions about the chemical composition. Larger concretions can be analysed by FTIR (see Urinary Calculi).
- When sending in Uricult, the examination takes 1–3 working days.
