Remark

  • Dog: The rheumatoid factor (RF) may be positive in some dogs with immune-mediated polyarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, infectious, inflammatory and neoplastic diseases, as well as in healthy animals. The result must be interpreted together with the clinical picture, synovial fluid and inflammation parameters.
  • Cat: RF is of only minor clinical relevance; RF can occur nonspecifically in chronic infections (e.g. FIV, FeLV).
