  • A Baermann test is indicated in cases of chronic cough and dyspnoea because of possible lungworm larvae infections.
  • The lungworm Angiostrongylus vasorum cannot only be detected by Baermann test, but also by PCR in blood or BAL (see Infectious Diseases / Parasites).
