• In cases of intoxication with organophosphates or phosphoric acid esters, inhibition of acetylcholinesterase leads to a significantly decreased activity of this enzyme in blood plasma.
• Cholinesterase is considered a liver-specific parameter in birds. A decreased concentration indicates liver cell damage or a reduced synthesis capacity of the liver.
