LABOKLIN Service ID: 284
mucosa-associated inflammatory parameter
Material | faeces |
Method | ELISA |
Remark | - As part of the adaptive and mucosa-associated immune system, sIgA protects against infections. In chronic inflammatory bowel disease, recurrent infections and atopy, sIgA levels may be reduced. Elevated levels indicate an increased immune response, e.g. to defend against enteropathogens or food allergens.
- Testing for sIgA is also part of the Dysbiosis Profile (see Profiles/Screenings – Small Animals / Faecal Profiles).
