- Heparin blood is not recommended in mammals as there is a risk of artefacts.
- An additional CBC is needed for full information.

- Dog: For the microscopic examination of Pelger-Huët anomalies, fresh, evaluable blood smears from a clinically healthy animal are required. When ordering via a printed submission form, please indicate that Pelger-Huët anomaly is suspected. The test is offered as a separate service in the online submission form.
