AGP (α-1 acid glycoprotein)
LABOKLIN Service ID: 1098
- AGP is one of the acute-phase proteins in cats and shows a non-specific increase in case of systemic inflammatory reactions.
- Studies have shown that highly increased AGP concentrations, especially in combination with typical clinical symptoms, indicate the presence of feline infectious peritonitis (FIP).
- If the diagnosis of FIP is confirmed, the determination of the AGP value can be helpful for therapeutic monitoring, as improvements in the course of the disease under therapy are reflected by a decrease in the AGP concentration.
| Material | serum 0.5 ml |
| Method | ELISA |
| Duration | 2 - 5 days |
| Remark | AGP can also be ordered in combination with the FIP Monitoring profile (FIP Monitoring + AGP, service ID 1116). |
