• Parameter for early diagnosis of renal dysfunction and protein loss via urine
• Not conclusive in case of bloody urine or active sediment. In this case, there is no correlation between UPC and renal function.
• Increased values can also be caused by fever, bacterial and inflammatory processes without renal dysfunction being present.
