• The immunofluorescence antibody test (IFAT) is highly crossreactive with antibodies against related bacteria, e.g. Yersinia enterocolitica, and positive results should be confirmed by a Brucella canis agglutination test.
• Agglutination tests (test number 2069) are often required for entry into non-European countries.
