cat: faeces (detection of excretion), CSF, ascites
dog: CSF, tissue (e.g. brain), ascites
farm animal: abortion material, tissue (brain, heart, lung and others)

realtime PCR

Detection by parasitological examination is possible, but much less sensitive than PCR.
