Estimation is useful in case of suspected undersupply or intoxication. Amongst others, undersupply may be caused by increased levels of iron in drinking water, iron being antagonistic to manganese. Manganese deficiency in cattle mainly causes dysfunctions in skeletogeny and reproductive disorders.
