Imerslund-Gräsbeck syndrome (IGS)
LABOKLIN Service ID: 8475
Imerslund-Gräsbeck syndrome (IGS) is characterised by malabsorption of Vitamin B12. Lack of cobalamin leads to changes in the hematopoietic system (such as megaloblastic anemia) and to neurological symptoms due to irreversible damage of the brain and nervous system. IGS can be managed by supplementation with regular doses of cobalamin.
