  • Single value determination: fT4 and fT3 both are strongly affected by the current metabolic state
  • Just like T4, fT4 is affected by underlying diseases.
  • Fasting 10 hours prior to sampling is recommended.
  • In cases of doubt: perform TRH stimulation test or – in dogs and cats - measure TSH concentration.
