Detection of BRAF variant V595E.Indications:<\/strong>

  • It was not possible to get a reliable histological\/cytological diagnosis.<\/li>
  • Screening for urothelial carcinoma (transitional cell carcinoma) in certain predisposed terrier breeds (e.g. Scottish Terrier, Fox Terrier, Jack Russell Terrier, West Highland White Terrier)<\/li>
  • Difficult patient<\/li><\/p>

    If urothelial carcinoma (transitional cell carcinoma) is suspected:<\/strong>

  • Urinary sediment (especially early morning urine; fluid + smear) or <\/li>
  • Aspiration cytology (smears) or<\/li>
  • Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue (from previous histological examination)<\/li>
    If prostate carcinoma is suspected:<\/strong>
  • Smears rich in cells or<\/li>

      - The urothelial (transitional cell)\/prostate carcinoma is not caused by BRAF mutation (approx. 30\u201350% of these carcinomas \u2013 depending on the breed).
      - There were no mutated cells present in the sample.
      - It is not a urothelial (transitional cell)\/prostate carcinoma.<\/ul>
