- Additional parameter for the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism as the peripheral transformation of T4 to T3 only takes place when necessary and T3 is only secreted thyroidally to a small extent.
- If presence of T4 AB is suspected.
- Therapy monitoring: Blood sampling 3 hours after oral intake of T3 medication (dog).
