Detection of BRAF variant V595E and detection of copy number

Indications:<\/strong>

  • It was not possible to get a reliable histological\/cytological diagnosis.<\/li>
  • Screening for urothelial carcinoma (transitional cell carcinoma) in certain predisposed terrier breeds (e.g. Scottish Terrier, Fox Terrier, Jack Russell Terrier, West Highland White Terrier)<\/li>
  • Difficult patient<\/li><\/p>

    • Urinary sediment (especially early morning urine; fluid + smear) or <\/li>
    • Aspiration cytology (smears) or<\/li>
    • Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue (from previous histological examination)<\/li><\/ul> <\/p><\/td><\/tr>

    Droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) and copy number alteration (CNA) <\/p><\/td><\/tr>

  • Only a positive result is conclusive.<\/li>
  • Reasons for negative results:<\/li>
      - It is not a urothelial (transitional cell) carcinoma.
      - The carcinoma does not have copy number alterations\/BRAF mutation.
      - There were no or not enough relevant cells present in the sample.
      - There is severe (secondary) inflammation.<\/ul>
    • Testing for CNAs is not suitable for prostate cancer.<\/li>
