  • Dog:<\/strong> Especially in Dalmatians, a genetic metabolic disorder can cause elevated uric acid levels (hyperuricosuria). Clinically, this manifests as uric acid stones and a brownish-yellowish discolouration of the coat (bronzing syndrome). It can be confirmed with the genetic test \"Hyperuricosuria (HUU\/SLC)\" (see category genetics \/ hereditary diseases \/ dog).<\/li>
  • Birds:<\/strong> Depending on the bird species, concentrations above 500 \u03bcmol\/l indicate nephropathies or exsiccosis.<\/li>
