Symptoms following administration of these drugs are diverse and include breathing difficulties, movement disorders, lethargy and dilated pupils, and even life-threatening convulsions. In the case of chemotherapeutic agents, altered metabolism can lead to gastrointestinal intoxications and also bone marrow depression.
