Due to the high cross-reactivity of antibodies against flaviviruses, flavivirus IgG ELISA detects a broad range of flaviviruses such as West Nile virus, Usutu virus, TBE virus, etc. Positive IgG antibodies therefore indicate flavivirus-specific antibodies. Further differentiation into antibodies specific to the West Nile virus cannot be done using the ELISA method. If IgM results are positive, which must be reported to the authorities in many countries and indicates a recent infection, a confirmatory test (e.g. virus neutralisation tests, VNT) is recommended to differentiate between antibodies against closely related flaviviruses.<\/p><\/td><\/tr><\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
