  • Blood tests are only useful in the febrile phase. Recently, the submission of organ\/swab material plus EB has been recommended. The samples are pooled to increase the chance of detection.<\/li>
  • PCR for EHV-1 includes differentiation of the neuropathogenic variant.<\/li>
