Sensitivity testing
Antibiogram (aerobes)
Method: microdilution technique (CLSI standard)
Parameter:
We use species specifc standard programs for
- small animals
- rabbits and rodents
- birds
- reptiles and amphibians
- large animals
- cattle / mastitis
- fishes
Duration: 2 - 3 days
Notation: An Antibiogram is invoiced as a fixed price per bacteriological culture, even if several antibiograms need to be performed.
Antibiogram (anaerobes)
Method: microdilution technique (CLSI standard)
Parameter: Only antibiotics with potential efficacy against anaerobes are tested.
Duration: 5 – 7 days after identification of the germ
Antibiogramm extended
Method: microdilution technique (CLSI standard)
Parameter:
We use species specifc standard programs for
- small animals
- rabbits and rodents
- birds
- reptiles and amphibians
- horses
- ruminants
- swine
Duration: 2 - 3 days
Antimycogram
Parameter: testing of chemotherapeutics with potential efficacy against yeasts/dermatophytes
Duration: 3 – 5 days
Notation: Antimycograms are only performed upon request.
Aromatogram
The aromatogram is an in vitro test for testing the sensitivity of bacteria resp. yeasts/malassezia to various essential oils.
Method: The procedure is based on the principle of the agar diffusion test (disk diffusion test).
Parameters: different essential oils
Duration: 2 days for bacteria, up to 7 days for yeasts
Note: The in vitro efficacy of essential oils is classified into 4 categories: from ineffective to slightly, moderately and highly effective.
