Secondary renal hyperparathyroidism should be ruled out. <\/li><li> Parathormone (rP) supports the identification of paraneoplastic hypercalcaemia (e.g. lymphoma, anal sac carcinoma in dogs). <\/li><li> Phosphate and vitamin D (25OH) are used to differentiate between secondary renal hyperparathyroidism and vitamin D-induced hypercalcaemia. <\/li><li> In cats, idiopathic hypercalcaemia is the most common form; it is less common as a secondary consequence of chronic kidney disease (CKD). <\/li><li> The Hypercalcaemia Profile and Calcium Ionized can be requested together via test number 667.
