Pituitary dwarfism is characterized by combined pituitary hormone deficiency (CPHD) and intrapituitary cyst formation.
Dwarfism is inherited as an autosomal recessive trait and can be detcted by a genetic test in Saarloos Wolfhonds and German Shepherds.
The test is performed out of EDTA whole blood (0.5 ml) or cotton cheek swabs.
The cotton swabs are available upon request and free of charge.
